Laffey, Bucci & Kent was founded over 5 years ago in 2009 by Jeff Laffey, Paul Bucci and Brian Kent. The firm’s partners shared a vision for bringing quality legal representation to people injured due to negligence of others. Our lawyers have over 40 years of experience pursuing justice in personal injury cases.
The firm opened its Wilmington, Delaware office to serve its clients in Delaware and clients further south, such as Maryland. The firm has deep connections to the east coast. Two of the firm’s partners were born and raised in the tri-state area and also received their undergraduate, graduate (JD) and advanced legal studies (LLM) in the area. Firm founder Brian Kent attended the University of Delaware in Newark for his undergraduate degree.
The Wilmington office operates as a branch office for clients in Delaware and further south. The office is located just a few blocks from the New Castle County Courthouse, where many Delaware accident and injury cases are filed.

Firm founder Brian Kent specializes in handling civil cases for victims of crimes. As a former prosecutor, Mr. Kent is passionate about pursuing justice for innocent victims of crime. He handles cases involving sexual assault and abuse, such as clergy/priest abuse, school/teacher abuse and abuse by professionals. In addition, he handles school violence and injury cases, DUI car accident cases and shooting/assault cases. Recently, Mr. Kent litigated a high profile child sexual abuse lawsuit against a sitting state court judge in Wilmington. In 2014, he was interviewed about his work in that monumental case.
