Last week, the NJ Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control revoked the liquor license of a bar in Vineland, NJ after two underage men were killed in a drunk driving crash.
That bar, Kashmir, is a “gentlemen’s club” or bar where women in bikinis dance on stage. The license revocation comes after two underage men were reportedly served alcohol at the bar in June 2011. Both men were later killed in a drunk driving accident. At the time of the accident, the men were 18 and 20 years old.
The Division found the bar owners guilty of serving alcohol to an underage person and serving alcohol to a visibly intoxicated person. The alcohol license will be revoked for 2 years.
A girlfriend of the deceased testified that on the night of the accident, the two men had begun drinking at another bar in Williamstown and later met at Kashmir. The Williamstown bar is also under investigation by the Division. The men had fake ids, but were allowed into the bar after a bouncer checked only one of their fake ids. According to the girlfriend, in the next hour and a half, the bar served the two men 5 or 6 alcoholic drinks each.
