Laffey, Bucci & Kent founding partner Jeff Laffey was invited to speak at a Philadelphia Carpenters Union Local 1856 dinner on April 13, 2012.
Jeff addressed various union members about workplace safety issues facing carpenters on construction sites and in the workplace. His presentation included common issues on construction and work sites such as:
- working from heights such as roofs,
- fall protection and protective safety gear,
- scaffold safety,
- forklift accidents, and
- electrical accidents.
As a highly rated workplace and construction accident lawyer in Philadelphia and the proud son of a union carpenter, Jeff cares about carpenters’ safety in the workplace and on the job.
Former clients of his often remark at his level of care and attention. “I just can’t say enough great things about Jeff. He handled everything from start to finish, absolutely beautifully. The main thing with Jeff was he was a straight shooter who always took care of me,” said Frank Gillmore, a union Operating Engineer.
Jeff has handled many Pennsylvania and New Jersey workplace accident cases, including a $12.7 million settlement involving the collapse of the Kimmel Center during construction resulting in a scaffold collapse accident and a $2.5 million settlement involving a union carpenter who fell 6 feet at a construction site due to a defective body harness.
