Laffey, Bucci & Kent attorney to lead the development of resources and sustainability for young attorneys at the nation’s only bar association dedicated to helping crime victims seek justice through the civil court system

PHILADELPHIA (January 2020) – Personal injury law firm Laffey, Bucci & Kent is proud to announce that attorney Guy D’Andrea has been named Chair, Young Lawyers Council of The National Crime Victim Bar Association. An affiliate and program of the National Center for Victims of Crime, the bar association is the nation’s only organization of attorneys and expert witnesses dedicated to helping victims of crime seek justice through the civil court system.

Prior to joining Laffey, Bucci & Kent, D’Andrea served as an assistant district attorney in the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. He has litigated complex, high-profile criminal cases, including more than 100 jury trials and 500 bench trials. As part of the Homicide Unit, he prosecuted the infamous “Philadelphia Craigslist Killer” and murderers who targeted transgender women.

Committed to developing resources and sustainability, D’Andrea served as the Assistant Director of Training during his time at the District Attorney’s Office. In that role, he helped train all new assistant district attorneys; presented at CLE programs; and spearheaded the office’s adoption and utilization of technology in preparing and presenting cases.

D’Andrea serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law, teaching a course in advanced trial advocacy with an emphasis on courtroom technology. He also coaches several mock trial teams a year—several which have won recognition in the past for their trial skills in regional and national competitions.

D’Andrea is a graduate of Widener University School of Law and a graduate of Loyola University Maryland.
