PHILADELPHIA (April 16, 2019) – The attorneys at Laffey Bucci & Kent and The Malone Firm, LLC currently represent several victims who suffered sexual assault by local Lancaster County doctor, Dr. William R. Vollmar. The clients of theses firms have courageously come forward, and wish to remain anonymous, alleging that Dr. Vollmar abused his position of power and trust as their medical doctor and sexually assaulted them during a routine medical visit.
Client #1 was supported by crime victim attorneys Brian Kent and Guy D’Andrea to the Pennsylvania State Police to report the alleged assault. Their goal is to ensure that no other person has to endure a sexual assault at the hands of Dr. Vollmar. Dr. Vollmar is alleged to have performed several unnecessary examination of the genitals of young boys at many of the school districts where he was appointed as a school doctor. These school districts include Pequea Valley and Lampeter-Strasburg school districts.
The Pennsylvania Attorney General charged William Vollmar with indecent assault shortly after Client #1’s report. Shortly thereafter Client #2, represented by Malone Law firm, courageously stepped forward to report the abuse he endured by Vollmar.
Dr. William Vollmar was exposed to large numbers of young males via his appointment as a school physician by the Pequea Valley School District, Middletown Area School District (MASD), Lampeter-Strasburg School District, and Conestoga Valley High School, as well as his employment with the medical practice of Stephen G. Diamantoni, M.D. who is the Lancaster County coroner. It is believed that Vollmar also had an association with Lancaster General Hospital.
According to local news report, Dr. Vollmar resigned from his affiliation with the school districts shortly after charges were pressed against him. The School District issued a letter to all parents on April 11, 2019.
Vollmar’s statement to police said that his recent crime was “a huge misunderstanding on my part.” The victims adamantly refute Vollmar’s blatant denial alleging that his sexual assaults began a long time ago and involved victims as young as 13-years-old (the age of Victim #2 when he was first assaulted). Authorities believe Vollmar may be a serial molester and urge other victims to come forward. In fact, when Vollmar became a doctor at Conestoga Valley High School, he ran a “study” where he examined athletes that were not injured. The study looked at the connection between Achilles tendon flexibility and knee injuries. It also involved determining where the athletes were in terms of puberty. Vollmar examined the genitals of each athlete to make this determination.
The courageous young men who have stepped forward seek to hold Dr. William Vollmar accountable for his actions and to spread awareness about them so that other victims do not have to suffer in silence.
All survivors of sexual assault are encouraged to contact the law firm’s William Vollmar Hotline to learn more about options available to them including a doctor sexual assault lawsuit. Call 855-382-3385 to reach an attorney and begin the path to healing.
