Brian Kent Co-Authors Amici Curiae Brief in Landmark Case Before the U.S. Supreme Court (Jan. 29, 2014)

Firm partner, Brian Kent, co-authored an Amici Curiae brief for the National Crime Victim Bar Association. The brief was filed in the landmark case, Paroline v. United States and Amy Unknown, which is currently being decided by the U.S. Supreme Court. The case revolves around the issue of whether child pornography victims are entitled to full restitution from criminal perpetrators.  Click here for more information about this brief.

Jeff Laffey Announces 2nd Recipient of the Tailgate for Trades Injured Workers Fund (Nov. 7, 2013)

Laffey, Bucci & Kent Supports the Bucks County Children’s Advocacy

In June 2013, the CAC held a mini-golf event for families. Laffey, Bucci & Kent proudly sponsored the event. This event coincided with CAC’s Pinwheel Garden Event, where over 800 pinwheels were placed in Bucks County area parks and gardens. Each pinwheel represented a child who stood up to child abuse.

Brian Kent Presents at National Crime Victims Bar Association, September 2013 Conference

Firm founder, Brian Kent, presented his much-anticipated paper, Current Issues in Litigating Civil Cases for Crimes at the Workplace, to over 100 of the country’s foremost victims lawyers and advocates.

Brian Kent was recently selected for membership of the AAJ Leadership Academy. Founded 65 years ago, the AAJ, works to promote justice for all and helps attorneys who take on some of the most powerful interests when it comes to fighting for the rights of injured clients.

The partners at the law firm of Laffey, Bucci & Kent created a charitable organization, Tailgate for Trades, dedicated to helping injured workers throughout the Pennsylvania and New Jersey area. Tailgate for Trade’s first event was held on March 21, 2013. 100% of the proceeds went directly to the charity. Read more.

Jeff Laffey Gives Workplace Safety Presentation to Philadelphia Carpenters Union

Jeff Laffey is passionate about workers’ rights and workplace safety. On April 13, 2012, Jeff presented to the Philadelphia Carpenters’ Union, Local 1856 to discuss common, avoidable work accidents. Thousands of workers are injured on the job in many kinds of avoidable accidents. Jeff believes that education is key in preventing on the job accidents. Read more.
