PHILADELPHIA (September 2019) – Personal injury law firm Laffey, Bucci & Kent is proud to announce that founding attorney Brian Kent has been named to the board of The National Crime Victim Bar Association. An affiliate and program of the National Center for Victims of Crime, the bar association is the nation’s only organization of attorneys and expert witnesses dedicated to helping victims of crime seek justice through the civil court system.

As a former sex crimes unit prosecutor, Kent is a passionate advocate for justice for all crime victims. Prior to entering the civil arena, he worked as an Assistant District Attorney in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania where he prosecuted sex offenders. This background gives him a unique perspective on civil liability in criminal cases in which victims have been injured physically or emotionally. Kent knows how to conduct a civil case while a related criminal case is pending in order to maximize a victim’s chance of financial recovery.

Active in national and local crime victim advocacy, Kent also serves as a child advocate for Montgomery Child Advocacy Project and is a member of the American

Association of Justice. Kent serves on the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Innocence Project, a nonprofit organization that works to exonerate those convicted of crimes they did not commit and to prevent innocent people from being convicted.

Kent has been named among the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in Pennsylvania since 2011, and among the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers since 2010. He is a lecturer in trial advocacy at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law and an adjunct professor at Drexel University School of Law. He holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Delaware and a law degree and LLM in trial advocacy from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law.
