About Tailgating for Trades

Tailgating for Trades (TFT) was co-founded in 2012 by firm partner, Jeff Laffey. TFT is one of the only organizations of its kind in the Philadelphia area. It provides much needed financial assistance to injured workers in the greater Philadelphia area. TFT is an especially important organization because injured workers and their families often bear about 50% of the costs of workplace injuries.

The topic of workplace safety and injuries is important to Mr. Laffey. He grew up on the “union dime.” His father was a union carpenter in Philadelphia. Growing up, Mr. Laffey saw the difficulties injured workers and their families faced after work accidents. After graduating from law school, he began representing injured workers. Workplace safety is a cause he’s passionate about. That’s why he started TFT.
